Pool Heater Installation Timeline: How Long Does It Take?

From initial consultation to a fully operational pool heater—our streamlined process gets you up and running fast.

Our Installation Process

Step 1: Free Phone Consultation & Quote

Time: 15-30 minutes (by phone)

Call us with basic information about your pool and current situation. Our experienced professionals will ask a few key questions to understand your unique needs—pool size, current heater status, gas line location, and any special requirements. Based on this conversation, we'll provide a clear estimate of what to expect and schedule your installation day.

Why by phone? No need to wait for an in-person visit. We gather everything we need to give you an accurate quote and timeline immediately.

Step 2: Installation Day

We arrive fully equipped with everything needed to complete your project—gas line materials, heater components, plumbing supplies, testing equipment, and tools. This means we rarely need a second trip.

Underground Gas Line to Pre-Set Heater

Time: 2-3 hours (complete)

  • • Trenching from meter to heater location
  • • Gas line installation with proper sizing and fittings
  • • Connection at meter and heater manifold
  • • Pressure testing (unless inspector witness required)
  • • Your pool heater is fully operational

New Heater Installation or Heater Swap

Time: 3-4 hours (complete)

  • • Remove old heater (if applicable)
  • • Install new heater unit
  • • Complete gas line installation and connections
  • • Plumbing connections (inlet/outlet)
  • • Pressure testing and system startup
  • • Your pool heater is ready to use

New Home Construction Gas Piping

Time: 6-8 hours (complete)

  • • Coordinate with general contractor on BTU load and schedule
  • • Arrive early morning with full crew
  • • Install gas piping from meter to every appliance (furnace, water heater, range, dryer, pool heater, etc.)
  • • Complete all connections and fittings
  • • Pressure test system and prepare for inspector
  • • All gas infrastructure ready for inspection

Step 3: Pressure Test Inspection

Time: Up to 7 days (worst case)

After installation, depending on your permit and building department we may need to schedule a pressure test with the local building inspector. They witness the test to verify code compliance and safety. This typically happens within a few days, though inspection scheduling can extend it to 7 days in rare cases.
